I met with Mark Young of the Chamber of Commerce and we discussed growing businesses in Jonesboro Arkansas. We talked about how the cornerstone of growing businesses in Jonesboro was having a good work force in Jonesboro, and how the cornerstone of having a good work force in Jonesboro was having a high quality of life in Jonesboro.

What does quality of life mean? Well the top two things are the same for just about everyone. People want to feel safe, and they want a good home they can afford. It’s the 3rd thing that is tricky. For some people it’s hiking or bike trails. For others it’s a museums and galleries. Some people are looking for a good book store, and others are looking for a cool 3rd space to hang out and spend their time when they’re not at home or at work. All of these things come together to improve quality of life, and Jonesboro can do a lot to attract these types of businesses or organizations, or encourage its residents to start them up locally!

If elected I’ll work with the chamber of commerce, and other organizations such ad the Delta Center for Economic Development, to ensure that the people of Jonesboro have the best opportunities available to them. Whether it’s starting your own business, or attracting jobs people want to work, we need to work hand in hand with these organizations to make sure that Jonesboro is growing its work force, and its opportunities!
