The Delta Center for Economic Development is a cornerstone of entrepreneurship in Jonesboro. A great many businesses including Rural Sourcing where I work got their start with the aid of the Delta Center. The Delta Center offers help to folks looking to start their own business. With aid ranging from helping developing a business plan, to offering facilities to help with product design and prototypes, to just offering inexpensive office space to help get your business of the ground they are one of the best resources for people in Jonesboro to get their new business of the ground. I think it’s a shame that more people don’t know about them.

Andrea took time out of her day to meet with me and discuss everything the Delta Center has to offer and the biggest challenge they face to helping more businesses get off the ground. They offer a wide range of services including The Garage which I’ve used personally that holds a wide range of laser cutters/etchers, 3d printers, computers, software, and more to rapidly prototype your idea for a product and turn it into a reality. On top of this they have The Shop which includes woodworking and machining tools, and The Lab which offers a wet lab for agricultural research.

The biggest challenge though is that not enough people know about them or the services they offer. I’m recommending a website to outline to entrepreneurs the steps to create their own business in Jonesboro Arkansas. This would outline steps you need to take with the local and state governments to start your business, but would also connect you with resources like The Delta Center to give you the best chance at success! This is about our community and our future, because I believe the best jobs in Jonesboro, start in Jonesboro.
